South Central Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – 2801 Act Apprentice Vacancies

South Central Railway (SCR) has released an official notification for the engagement of 2801 Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the year 2025-26. Eligible candidates from specified districts under the jurisdiction of South Central Railway can apply online through the official website within the given application dates.

The apprenticeship program will be conducted in various workshops, divisions, and establishments under South Central Railway across multiple states including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh. The recruitment process will be conducted entirely online and candidates will be selected based on a merit list prepared using their 10th class and ITI marks.

Reservation Details

  • SC Reservation – 15%
  • ST Reservation – 7.5%
  • OBC (NCL) Reservation – 27%
  • EWS Reservation – 10%
  • PwBD Reservation – 4%
  • Ex-Servicemen Reservation – 3%

Reservation for PwBD candidates includes 1% each for visually impaired, hearing impaired, locomotor disability and multiple disability categories. Reservation for Ex-Servicemen is applicable to children of deceased or disabled ex-servicemen, children of ex-servicemen, children of serving jawans and children of serving officers.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidate must have passed 10th class (SSC) or equivalent examination.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks required in 10th class.
  • Candidate must possess ITI certificate in the relevant trade.
  • ITI certificate must be issued by institutes recognized by NCVT or SCVT.
  • Candidates must possess the required qualifications on the date of application submission.
  • Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible under this apprenticeship notification.

Selection Process

  • Selection will be based on a merit list.
  • Merit will be calculated using the average percentage of marks in 10th class and ITI.
  • Both qualifications will have equal weightage.
  • There will be no written examination.
  • There will be no interview.
  • If two candidates have equal marks, older candidate will be given preference.
  • If age is also same, candidate who passed 10th earlier will be considered.

Training and Stipend

Training will be provided according to the syllabus and standards prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council. Apprentices will receive stipend during training as per the rules and instructions issued by the Railway Board and Government of India.

Medical Fitness Requirements

  • Selected candidates must submit a medical fitness certificate.
  • Certificate must be issued by a government authorized doctor.
  • Doctor must not be below the rank of Assistant Surgeon in a Central or State hospital.
  • Medical certificate must be produced during document verification.
