This detailed notification is regarding the extension of the last date for submission of application for the post of Part-Time Bank’s Medical Consultant (BMC) at the Reserve Bank of India, Ahmedabad. Earlier information issued vide notification dated October 13, 2025 remains unchanged.

Job Location Details

The positions will be attached to dispensaries located at RBI buildings and residential colonies in Ahmedabad. The applicant may be posted to any one or more of these locations as per Bank’s requirement.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant should possess an MBBS degree from any university recognized by the Medical Council of India in the Allopathic system of medicine.
  • Applicants having a Post Graduate Degree in General Medicine are also eligible to apply.
  • The applicant must have at least two (02) years of post-qualification experience practicing Allopathic medicine as a Medical Practitioner in any hospital or clinic.
  • The applicant should have his/her dispensary or residence located within a radius of 10–15 kilometers from the Bank's dispensaries.

Eligible candidates must submit their applications strictly as per the format provided in Annex-III. Applications may be sent via post in a sealed envelope or through email. Applications not submitted in the prescribed format or missing required documents will be summarily rejected.

Reservation Document Requirements

  • OBC candidates must submit the prescribed OBC certificate valid for appointments under Government of India.
  • OBC certificate must state that the candidate does not belong to the Creamy Layer.
  • OBC certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2025, based on income for FY 2024–25, 2023–24, and 2022–23.
  • EWS candidates must present a valid "Income & Asset Certificate" for FY 2024–25, valid for the year 2025–26.
  • Reservation claims will be verified, and false claims will result in immediate termination and legal action.

Remuneration, Duty Hours, and Conditions

  • The remuneration is ₹1,000 per hour for the entire 3-year contract.
  • From the monthly remuneration, ₹1,000 is treated as conveyance expenses, and ₹1,000 is reimbursed for mobile charges.
  • Remuneration is payable monthly and is based on actual duty hours performed.
  • If required to attend duties on public holidays or holidays, compensation of ₹1,000 per hour will be provided.
  • No perks or facilities such as leave, pension, provident fund, gratuity, or superannuation benefits are available.
  • Engagement is purely contractual, and no claim for regular employment can be made.
  • The number of duty hours can be increased as per Bank’s requirement but shall not exceed 30 hours per week across all dispensaries.
  • RBI reserves the right to review remuneration and reassign dispensaries anytime based on administrative needs.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of multiple stages, and fulfilling eligibility does not guarantee an interview call.

  1. Shortlisting of candidates based on eligibility.
  2. Document verification for shortlisted applicants.
  3. Interview conducted by the Bank.
  4. Medical examination of shortlisted candidates as per RBI standards.
  5. Acceptance of Terms & Conditions (Annex-I) and adherence to Code of Conduct (Annex-II).
  6. Signing of the contract agreement before engagement.

The Bank's decision regarding eligibility, minimum standards, and final selection shall be final and binding.

Annex-I: Terms and Conditions of the Contract (Complete)

The selected Bank’s Medical Consultant (BMC) must comply with the following detailed terms and conditions throughout the engagement period:

  • Attend the Bank’s dispensary as per prescribed duty hours, including extended hours if required, except on Bank holidays.
  • Provide medical consultation, administer injections, prescribe medicines, and provide treatments for RBI staff, families, retired employees, and dependents under the Medical Assistance Fund Scheme.
  • Provide consultation at private clinic during emergencies based on Bank’s schedule of charges.
  • Issue medical certificates, verify certificates from external doctors, and visit staff quarters when required.
  • Handle minor surgeries, dressings, vaccinations, inoculations, and emergency cases, including escorting patients to hospitals when necessary.
  • Advise on drug stock, ensure proper record maintenance, and inspect Bank premises for hygiene.
  • Provide professional opinion on medical claims and assist in Medical Assistance schemes.
  • Ensure substitute arrangements during absence, with substitutes approved by the Bank.
  • Taxes will be deducted at source; no superannuation benefits apply.
  • Contract is valid for 3 years, with a 3-month notice period from either side for termination.
  • Contract may be terminated immediately in case of breach, negligence, or misconduct.
  • All disputes fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Ahmedabad.

Annex-II: Code of Conduct (Complete)

  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all Bank affairs and patient information.
  • Do not publish or share any information related to the Bank without written permission.
  • Serve the Bank honestly, courteously, and faithfully.
  • Avoid political activities, demonstrations, union involvement, or strikes.
  • Do not accept gifts from employees or patients.
  • Avoid intoxication while on duty or in public places.
  • Refrain from actions such as solicitation, fee-splitting, or unethical referral practices.
  • Do not engage in sexual harassment; comply fully with legal definitions and guidelines.
  • Contract is terminable if the consultant is arrested or convicted under law.
