Online applications are invited from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates for enrolment as Agniveer (MR – Musician) for the 02/2025 batch in the Indian Navy.

Application Process

  • Candidates can apply online only at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in.
  • No offline or postal applications will be accepted.
  • Upload all scanned original documents including education, music experience, and domicile certificates.
  • Recent passport-size colour photograph (taken not before June 2024) with the candidate holding a black slate showing name and date is mandatory.
  • Optional application support is available at Common Service Centres (CSC) for a fee of ₹60 + GST.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Matriculation (Class 10) pass with minimum 50% marks from boards recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
  • Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 01 Sep 2004 – 29 Feb 2008 (both dates inclusive).
  • Marital Status: Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage is not allowed during the 4-year tenure.
  • Musical Proficiency: Candidates should demonstrate:
    • Accuracy in tempo, pitch, and ability to sing a complete song.
    • Skill on any Indian or foreign instrument (keyboard, string, wind).
    • Ability to tune instruments, perform scale/raga/taala, sight reading (Indian/Western notation), and knowledge of music theory.
  • Excluded Instruments: Candidates using indefinite pitch instruments (jazz drums, bass/snare drums, cymbals) or monotone instruments (bugle) are not eligible.
  • Musical Certificate Requirement:
    • Candidates in Hindustani/Carnatic music must have certification from a recognized musical institute or organization.
    • Candidates in Western music must have at least an initial grade certificate from international boards like Trinity College or Royal School of Music, London.
    • Other candidates should provide certificates of participation/awards in music competitions.

Selection Process

  1. Shortlisting based on 10th marks and valid music certificates.
  2. Call-up Letters will be available online only (not by post).
  3. Recruitment stages:
    • Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
    • Music Ability Test
    • Recruitment Medical Examination
  4. Final merit list will be based on the Music Ability Test only.
  5. Pre-enrolment Medicals at INS Chilka.
  6. Police Verification Certificate mandatory before enrolment.

  • Medical standards as per Navy entry regulations apply

Training Details

  • Training will begin at INS Chilka, Odisha in September 2025.
  • Candidates may be discharged as "UNSUITABLE" for poor performance at any stage.
