The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Cell, Station Headquarters, Shimla, invites applications for various contractual positions in ECHS Polyclinic, Shimla. The appointment is purely on a contractual basis for a period of one year, renewable for an additional year or until attaining the maximum age limit, subject to satisfactory performance and other prescribed conditions.

Applicants must submit their applications in the prescribed format available on the official ECHS website. The application should be accompanied by self-attested photocopies of educational qualification certificates, work experience documents, and other supporting testimonials.

Only Ex-Servicemen candidates are eligible primarily. However, in the absence of Ex-Servicemen applicants, civilian candidates may be considered provisionally. If a civilian candidate is selected, the contractual period will be limited to 11 months.
The upper age limit has not been specified in the notification. However, the appointment will continue only until the candidate attains the maximum permissible age as per ECHS norms.
All vacancies are reserved exclusively for Ex-Servicemen (ESM). If no Ex-Serviceman applies for any position, civilian candidates may be considered on a provisional basis. In such cases, the contractual engagement shall be valid for 11 months only.
No application fee has been mentioned or is required for applying to these positions.
The selection process will be conducted through an interview at Station Headquarters, Shimla. Candidates must report at 1000 hrs on the interview date. The interview will be held between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs.
Candidates are required to bring the following documents at the time of the interview:
No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the interview. Only candidates meeting the qualitative requirements will be called for further process.
Selected candidates must undergo a mandatory and unpaid On Job Training (OJT) for 10 days and will have to obtain a certification from the OIC Polyclinic before signing the contract agreement.
The engagement is purely on a contractual basis. Renewal of contract will depend upon satisfactory performance, medical fitness, and age criteria. Applications received after the last date will not be entertained. All candidates must ensure that the documents submitted are valid and duly attested.
Civilian candidates are eligible to apply only if no Ex-Servicemen candidate applies for the post. If selected, the civilian appointment will be valid for a duration of 11 months.
