Prasar Bharati Recruitment 2026 – Anchor & Senior Correspondent Posts (Contract Basis)

Prasar Bharati Secretariat, Prasar Bharati House, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi – 110001, has invited applications from experienced and dynamic Indian Nationals for contractual engagement in various categories under DG: DD News at New Delhi. The engagement will be purely on a full-time contract basis for a period of one year, subject to annual appraisal and performance review.

Educational Qualification & Skills

• Degree from a recognized university/institute.
• Degree / PG Diploma in Journalism / Mass Communication / relevant field from a recognized university/institute.
• Camera-friendly personality with a voice of very good quality suitable for telecast.
• Correct pronunciation, accent, and modulation.
• Proficiency in English & Hindi will be preferred.

Nature of Duties

The selected candidates will be responsible for presenting news stories in a clear, concise, and engaging manner. Duties include presentation of pre-prepared bulletins, conducting live interviews, responding to breaking news, covering stories in the field, reporting news from field locations, anchoring in Government programmes and events, and performing any other work assigned by the supervisory officer.

For the post of Senior Correspondent, responsibilities include covering complex and varied stories across India and abroad, planning stories in advance, designing suitable coverage plans in coordination with input desks, gaining access to locations and individuals in the field, writing, editing and producing accurate and engaging news stories, preparing voiced packages, performing newsroom related work, and carrying out any other tasks assigned by the controlling officer/supervisor.

Selection Process

Terms and Conditions of Engagement

• Services will be purely on contractual basis.
• No claim for absorption or regularization in Prasar Bharati.
• Full-time engagement; no other assignment allowed during contract period.
• Additional tasks may be assigned apart from specified duties.
• Engagement may be discontinued with one-month notice or one-month remuneration in lieu thereof by either side without assigning any reason.
• No claim of pensionary benefits on account of contractual engagement.
• Prasar Bharati reserves the right to increase or decrease number of positions depending on requirement.
• Age / Experience / Education shall be considered till the date of issue of notification (inclusive).
