Available Post Details

Salary / Monthly Emoluments

• ₹31,000 per month + HRA for candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET Lectureship or Assistant Professorship or GATE.
• ₹31,000 per month + HRA for candidates who have qualified National Level Examinations conducted by Central Government departments such as DBT, DST or equivalent agencies or institutions.
• ₹25,000 per month + HRA for candidates who do not fall under the above categories.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the position must possess the following minimum educational qualification:

• M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized University
• M.Sc. in Environmental Science from a recognized University
• M.Sc. in Biotechnology from a recognized University
• M.Sc. in Microbiology from a recognized University

Job Requirements / Experience

• Experience in handling scientific analytical instruments such as GCMS, Ion Chromatograph, ICPMS, UPLC and other relevant laboratory equipment.
• Field work involving collection of environmental samples across different states of the country.
• Laboratory analysis of water and soil samples in various environmental matrices.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age Limit: 35 Years
• Age will be calculated as on the last date of receipt of applications.

Application Fee

Selection Process

1. Screening of applications submitted by candidates.
2. Shortlisting of eligible candidates by the screening committee.
3. Online interview conducted through MS Teams / Skype or similar online platforms.
4. Final selection based on performance in the interview.

Eligibility Conditions

• Candidates must have acquired the essential qualification and the result must be declared.
• Candidates should possess at least a provisional certificate confirming the completion of the qualification.
• Candidates awaiting results are not eligible to apply.
• Final semester appearing candidates are not eligible to apply.
• Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis but whose results are awaited are not eligible.
• Final semester and result awaited candidates are not allowed to appear for the interview.

Important Terms and Conditions

• The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.
• The engagement will not confer any right on the candidate for regular appointment in CSIR or CSIR-NEERI.
• The tenure of project staff who have served in CSIR laboratories under R&D projects cannot exceed six or seven years as per CSIR guidelines.
• Experience will be counted only after acquiring the minimum essential qualification.
• Dissertation or thesis work completed during academic study will not be counted as experience.
• Time spent acquiring higher qualifications will not be counted as experience.
• Mere fulfillment of minimum qualification does not guarantee selection or interview call.
• Preference may be given to candidates based on screening criteria when large numbers of applications are received.
• Shortlisted candidates will be informed through the official website or recruitment portal.
• Candidates must apply afresh for each project engagement.
• CSIR-NEERI reserves the right to cancel or withdraw engagement if discrepancies are found in the candidature.
• Selected candidates must join within the time frame mentioned in the offer letter.
• Candidates must complete pre-appointment formalities such as medical examination and character verification.
• Selected candidates must sign an undertaking for maintaining confidentiality of project findings and intellectual property.
• Engagement in a new project will be permitted only after resignation from a previous project is accepted by the competent authority.
• Engagement duration may be extended or curtailed depending on project duration, performance or conduct.
• The project engagement may be terminated by giving one-month notice.
• Candidates leaving the project must give one-month notice or pay one month remuneration in lieu of notice.
• Candidates must arrange their own accommodation during their project tenure.
• House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be provided as per applicable rules.
• The initial offer letter will be issued for the period for which project funds are available.
• A review committee may assess performance and recommend extension subject to fund availability.
• CSIR guidelines for engagement of project personnel will apply.
• No TA will be paid to candidates appearing for interview if conducted offline.
• All other terms and conditions will follow guidelines issued by CSIR-NEERI and the funding agency.
