Eligibility Details

Associate Professor (Yoga Vijnana / Agama)

  • Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
  • Minimum eight years of teaching/research experience comparable to Assistant Professor level.
  • Minimum seven publications and a research score of at least 75 as per UGC norms.

Desirable: For Yoga Vijnana – Experience in Yoga Asanas. For Agama – Ability to teach in Sanskrit medium and practical knowledge of Agama.

Assistant Professor (All Subjects – Common Criteria)

  • Acharya/Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an accredited foreign university.
  • Cleared NET (code 73/25 for most subjects; code 09 for Education) conducted by UGC/CSIR or equivalent SLET/SET OR holds a Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016.
  • Ph.D. candidates registered before July 11, 2009 are exempt from NET/SLET/SET, provided all of the following conditions are met:
  1. The Ph.D. degree has been awarded in regular mode.
  2. The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners.
  3. An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted.
  4. The candidate has published at least two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, at least one in a refereed journal.
  5. The candidate has presented at least two papers at UGC/ICSSR/CSIR funded conferences or seminars.

Equivalence Clause: A Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 globally (QS, THE, ARWU) shall also be acceptable.

Desirable: Candidates must have the ability to teach in Sanskrit medium.

Subject-Wise Details

  • Assistant Professor in Sahitya: Same as common criteria. Desirable – Ability to teach Sanskrit literature.
  • Assistant Professor in Jyotisha & Vastu: Same as common criteria. Desirable – Knowledge of Jyotisha Siddhanta and Vastu texts.
  • Assistant Professor in Research & Publications: Same as common criteria. Desirable – Experience in Sanskrit manuscript publication and research methodology.
  • Assistant Professor in Vyakarana: Same as common criteria. Desirable – Deep knowledge of Paninian grammar and Sanskrit pedagogy.
  • Assistant Professor in Education (Sanskrit Teaching Methodology): Acharya/Master’s degree with 55% marks and Shiksha Acharya (M.Ed.)/M.Ed./M.A. in Education with 55% marks. Must have cleared NET (Code 09) or hold a Ph.D. in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016.
  • Assistant Professor in Sabdabodha Systems & Computational Linguistics: Same as common criteria. Desirable – Expertise in Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, Machine Translation, and Paninian Grammar Modeling.
