Application Process

  1. Apply online at https://recruitment.icfre.gov.in
  2. Application form is bilingual but entries must be in English.
  3. Upload scanned photograph, signature, educational qualification documents, caste certificate, NOC (if applicable), etc.
  4. Pay application fee online via Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.
  5. Retain registration number and take printout of the application form.
  6. Download admit card from the portal once released.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • Must possess First Class Master’s degree or BE/B.Tech in specified disciplines.
  • PhD is desirable for all disciplines.
  • Disciplines include: Hydrology, Pathology, Chemistry, Soil Science, Forest Economics, Botany, Forestry, Forest Ecology & Environmental Management, Entomology, Genetics.
  • "First Class" must be mentioned on the degree/marksheet or justified via official conversion scale.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 35 years (as of closing date)
  • Age relaxation for SC/ST: 5 years; OBC: 3 years
  • Departmental (ICFRE employees): 5 years relaxation

Reservation Details

  • Total Vacancies: Approximately 25
  • UR: 10, EWS: 4, OBC: 6, SC: 4, ST: 1
  • EWS reservation is provisional and subject to production of valid income & asset certificate as per DoPT norms.

Application Fees

  • UR/EWS/OBC: ₹2,000 (₹1,000 exam fee + ₹1,000 processing fee)
  • SC/ST/Women/PwD: ₹1,000 (processing fee only; exempted from exam fee)
  • All transaction charges to be borne by the applicant. Fees are non-refundable.

Selection Process

  • Written Examination: 100 objective questions, 400 marks, 2 hours duration, +4 for correct answer and –1 for incorrect.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: UR/EWS – 50%; OBC – 45%; SC/ST – 40%
  • Personal Interview: 70 marks; up to 5% bonus for desirable qualifications.
  • Final Merit List will be based on combined score of written and interview.
  • Tie-Breaker: Higher marks in written exam, then seniority by age.

Additional Guidelines

  • Original documents required at the time of interview.
  • Electronic gadgets are prohibited inside the examination hall.
  • No requests for revaluation or rechecking will be entertained.
  • Government employees must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
  • Candidates must be physically and mentally fit.
  • Bigamous marriages are disallowed unless legally permitted.
  • Jurisdiction for all legal matters lies with courts in Uttarakhand.
