Eligibility (Post-wise - Short)

Assistant Superintendent (Stores/Commercial): BBA OR Graduate + 1-year Diploma (Commercial/Supply Chain/Materials/Logistics or equivalent). Minimum 2 years post-qualification relevant experience. Desirable: PG Degree/Diploma in Commercial/Supply Chain; knowledge of Konkani/Marathi with Hindi & English.
Structural Fitter: ITI & NCTVT (NAC) in Structural Fitter/Fitter/Fitter General/Sheet Metal Worker. Minimum 2 years experience. Desirable: NAC in Shipbuilding or experience in PSUs/Private Shipyards/Naval Workshops; language preference as stated.
Welder: ITI (Welder). Minimum 2 years experience. Desirable: NAC in Shipbuilding or experience in PSUs/Private Shipyards/Naval Workshops; language preference as stated.
Technical Assistant (Mechanical): 3-year full-time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 2 years experience. Desirable: AutoCAD ability; language preference as stated.
Shipwright Fitter: SSC + Training Certificate (Deck/Engine department). Minimum 2 years experience in shipbuilding industry. Desirable: language preference as stated.
Assistant Superintendent (Finance): Graduate + Intermediate (ICAI/ICMAI) OR MBA Finance. Minimum 2 years post-qualification relevant experience (Finance). Desirable: PG Degree/Diploma in Finance recognized by Govt. of India; language preference as stated.
Junior Supervisor (Safety - Mechanical): 3-year Diploma in Mechanical + 1-year Diploma in Industrial Safety (Board of Technical Education/CLI/RLI). Minimum 2 years post-qualification relevant experience. Desirable: language preference as stated.

Age Limit & Relaxation

  • Upper Age Limit: As specified in tables (ST: 38 years; OBC-NCL: 36 years) as on 30.11.2025.
  • Relaxation: Ex-Servicemen/Agniveer and PwBD as per Government guidelines; internal candidates as per GSL rules.
  • Maximum Age (after all relaxations): Not more than 56 years as on cut-off date.
  • Training Weightage: For candidates who completed advance training from GSL, training period considered as experience for relevant posts and weightage awarded as per Advance Training Scheme.

Reservation & Certificates (Key Requirements)

  • Caste certificate must be in prescribed proforma for “Appointment to posts under the Government of India” from designated authority, indicating caste, Act/Order, and ordinary residence village/town.
  • OBC (NCL) certificate should not be more than 6 months old at the time of joining.
  • PwBD candidates must submit disability certificate as per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 with percentage of disability.
  • If certificate issued in language other than English/Hindi, submit self-certified translated copy in English or Hindi.
  • GSL may verify genuineness; false certificates may invite penal action as per GSL/Government guidelines.
  • Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Agniveer belonging to reserved category can apply subject to eligibility; considered as per Government guidelines.
  • Concessions/relaxations for PwBD candidates as per Government guidelines.

Application Fee & Payment Mode

  • Fee Exemption: ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted as per Government of India rules.
  • Internal Candidates: No fee required for internal candidates applying for the posts.
  • Important: Applications without prescribed fee (where applicable) are liable for rejection. Fee is non-refundable.
  • Fee paid in lesser amount or via any mode other than prescribed will lead to rejection; fee paid by ineligible candidates will be forfeited.

Selection Process

  • Stages: Written Test → Document Verification → Skill/Trade Test
  • Written Test Mode: CBT or Pen-Paper based; conducted internally/externally.
  • Written Test Pattern: 25% General Aptitude + 75% Subject/Trade-related questions.

Travel Allowance (TA) / Reimbursement Notes

  • Outstation candidates who clear written test and qualify for Skill/Trade Test after document verification will be paid to-and-fro sleeper class rail fare (shortest route) from nearest railway station (as registered in online application) to GSL on production of journey proof (hard copy tickets) as per rules.
  • ST candidates: on being eligible and appearing for written test will be reimbursed to-and-fro sleeper class rail fare (shortest route) to GSL/exam venue on production of journey proof (hard copy tickets) as per rules.
  • TA payment through ECS after completion of selection process; candidates expected to bring ECS form + bank passbook copy/cancelled cheque; if traveling by flight, document of equivalent train fare for journey.
  • Candidates having wait-listed rail tickets are not entitled for TA reimbursement.
  • ECS form available on website under “Notice Board - Careers - Advertisement”.

Key General Conditions / Disclaimers

  • Applications must be submitted online only; any other mode will be rejected.
  • Candidates must clearly declare complete experience from initial appointment to cut-off date in online application.
  • Management may fill or not fill posts and may increase/reduce vacancies; may fill future vacancies from valid panel as per rules.
