Canara Bank Engagement of Graduate Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2025-26

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India or equivalent. Graduation must have been obtained between 01.01.2022 and 01.09.2025.
  • Age Limit: Minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years as on 01.09.2025. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 01.09.1997 and not later than 01.09.2005.

Stipend and Employment Terms

  • Monthly Stipend: ₹15,000 (₹10,500 from Canara Bank, ₹4,500 from Govt. of India through DBT)
  • Period of Apprenticeship: 12 months
  • Nature of Engagement: Apprentices are not employees of Canara Bank and will not receive employee benefits.
  • Certificate: Apprentices will receive a NATS joint certification upon completion.

Application Fees

  • SC/ST/PwBD: NIL
  • All Others: ₹500 (non-refundable including intimation charges)

Application Process

  1. Register on Apprenticeship Portal (www.nats.education.gov.in) and obtain an enrollment number.
  2. Apply online at Canara Bank website (www.canarabank.com) under Careers → Recruitment.
  3. Upload scanned documents: photograph, signature, left thumb impression, handwritten declaration.
  4. Pay application fees (if applicable) through online mode only.
  5. Take a printout of the system generated application form and e-receipt for records.

Selection Process

  • Merit list prepared state-wise based on marks in 12th Std (HSC/10+2) or Diploma.
  • Minimum qualifying marks: 60% (General/EWS/UR), 55% (SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Tie-breaking: Higher age preferred.
  • Local language test during document verification (if not exempted).
  • Medical fitness and document verification mandatory.

Other Terms and Conditions

  • Apprentices entitled to 12 casual leaves per year (1 per month). No other leave applicable.
  • Holidays as applicable to the branch where training is conducted.
  • No overtime work unless approved by Apprenticeship Adviser.
  • Conduct and discipline rules must be followed. Misconduct can lead to termination with notice.
  • Bank has no obligation to provide regular employment after apprenticeship.
  • All disputes subject to Bengaluru jurisdiction.

Documents Required at the Time of Engagement

  • Printout of online application form.
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or 10th Certificate).
  • Identity proof (Passport, Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, Driving License).
  • Educational mark sheets and certificates (SSC onwards).
  • Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • EWS Income & Asset Certificate.
  • Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates).
  • Certificate for 1984 riot-affected persons (if applicable).

General Instructions

  • Candidates must carefully fill online applications; incomplete or incorrect details will lead to rejection.
  • Applications must be submitted only online; no other mode accepted.
  • Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.
  • Bank may cancel or modify the recruitment process at any stage.
