Monsoon arrives early, covers 9 states by May 26
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), as of May 26, 2025, the monsoon has reached nine states, with five experiencing fully active monsoon conditions and four witnessing pre-monsoon showers. After entering South India on May 24, the monsoon advanced on May 25 to parts of Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Goa, and Maharashtra.
