Heavy firing on the Pakistan–Afghanistan border amid Istanbul talks
While peace talks to curb terrorism between Pakistan and Afghanistan were underway in Istanbul, Turkey, heavy cross-border firing erupted between the two countries. In this exchange, five Pakistani soldiers were killed, while Pakistan claims that several Taliban fighters were also eliminated.
