Eligibility Criteria
Essential Qualification
- Degree/Diploma in Textile Technology or Handloom Technology from a recognized University/Institute.
- Minimum 10 years of practical experience in a responsible position in Government Department, Undertaking, or reputed commercial concern dealing with Textile Industry.
- Knowledge of Bengali (spoken and written).
Desirable Qualification
- Knowledge of export markets in Handloom, Textile Production, Hosiery, or Readymade Garments Industry.
Ability to read, write, and speak Bengali is essential. However, candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali are exempted unless specifically mentioned. This ability will be tested during the interview, and poor performance may lead to cancellation of candidature.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 45 years (as on 01 January 2026)
- Age relaxation applicable as per government rules.
- Maximum relaxation will not exceed 5 years.

Marks obtained in the screening test will only be used for shortlisting candidates for interview and will not be considered for final merit list.
Reservation & Certificates
- Candidates must submit valid caste/category certificates issued by competent authority of West Bengal.
- OBC candidates must submit renewed/revalidated certificates at the time of interview and appointment.
- PwBD candidates must submit valid disability certificate and Appendix-I (if applicable).
- Certificates must be uploaded in PDF format (max 100 KB).
Other Important Instructions
- Only one application per candidate is allowed.
- Submission of false information will lead to cancellation of candidature.
- Candidates must fulfill eligibility criteria by the closing date.
- All documents must be produced when required by the Commission.
- Date of examination/interview will be notified later on the official website.
- Use of mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smart watches or any communication devices is strictly prohibited in examination premises.
- Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
PwBD Candidates Provisions
- Scribe facility allowed for candidates with writing limitations.
- Candidates may bring their own scribe (qualification one level below candidate).
- Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour will be provided.
Important Notes
- All qualifications must be from recognized institutions.
- Higher qualification means at least one level above essential qualification.
- Experience must be full-time and relevant to the field.
- Commission may restrict candidates for interview based on higher qualification or screening test.
- Tie-breaking in interview will be based on date of birth and marks in minimum qualification.
