Pay is fixed at minimum of the scale. Other benefits include DA, allowances, PRP, medical facilities, HRA/lease accommodation, PF, gratuity, post-retirement medical scheme, leaves, group insurance and leave encashment (as per company rules).
Eligibility Criteria (Qualification & Experience)
Training (except on-the-job training), internship, teaching/academic/fellowship/PhD research experience will not be counted as experience.
RG/26/25 – Sr. Manager (Ports & Waterways)
- Qualification: Master’s Degree in Marine Engineering & Management / Ocean Structures/Engineering / Structural Engineering or equivalent/similar.
- Post-qualification Experience: 8 years.
- Relevant Experience: Minimum 8 years in structural & marine engineering design, including minimum 5 years hands-on design/analysis/detailing of marine & coastal structures (quay walls, jetties, dolphins, breakwaters, berthing structures, dry docks, slipways, ship lifts etc.).
RG/27/25 – Manager (Ports & Waterways)
- Qualification: Master’s Degree in Marine Engineering & Management / Ocean Structures/Engineering / Structural Engineering or equivalent/similar.
- Post-qualification Experience: 5 years.
- Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years in civil/structural engineering of infrastructure projects, including minimum 3 years design/analysis of marine structures (jetties, dolphins, quay walls, breakwaters).
RG/28/25 – Manager (Coastal Modelling)
- Qualification: Master’s Degree in Coastal Engineering / Marine Engineering & Management / Ocean Structures/Engineering or equivalent/similar.
- Post-qualification Experience: 5 years.
- Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years in coastal/ocean engineering-related projects, including minimum 2 years in numerical modelling of coastal processes.
RG/29/25 – Assistant Manager (Port Planning)
- Qualification: Master’s Degree in Transport Engineering / Transport Planning / Urban Planning or equivalent/similar.
- Post-qualification Experience: 2 years.
- Relevant Experience: Minimum 2 years in port master planning, land use planning of ports/harbors/cruise terminals/shipyards/multimodal parks with CRZ/zoning studies; preparing concept layouts, zoning maps, circulation plans (under senior guidance); hands-on AutoCAD, GIS, visualization tools.
Minimum marks: UR/EWS (and SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD applying against unreserved posts) require First Class / minimum 60% in minimum qualification. Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD as applicable) require minimum 50% for reserved posts. Degree must be AICTE recognized and from a valid Indian University/Institution/Deemed University under UGC Act, 1956. IEI Sections A & B accepted if treated equivalent and AICTE recognized. If marks/first class not mentioned, submit official conversion formula; if none, submit undertaking, and 6/10 is treated as 60%.
Age Relaxation & Reservation
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC-NCL: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Service years + 3 years
- J&K Domicile: 5 years
- PwBD: 10 years (in addition to category relaxation), subject to post being identified suitable
- RITES regular/contract employees: 5 years age relaxation (over and above upper age limit) if educational qualification and experience criteria are fulfilled
Reservation/relaxation/concessions to EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/Ex-SM/J&K Domicile would be provided against reserved posts (where applicable) as per extant Government orders. PwBD candidates may apply even if no vacancies are specifically reserved for them, and will be considered by general standard of merit (where the post is identified suitable).
Selection Process
Candidates have the option to appear for the selection process in Hindi or English.
- Written Test: 125 objective questions, 1 mark each, duration 2.5 hours, no negative marking. PwBD compensatory time: 50 minutes. Minimum qualifying marks: 50% (UR/EWS) and 45% (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD against reserved posts).
- Document Scrutiny: Based on written test and vacancies, uploaded documents will be scrutinized. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview preceded by verification of original documents. Deficiency (if any) will be notified on website; candidates must bring documents fulfilling deficiency at document verification before interview.
- Interview: Candidates called in ratio 1:6 to vacancies. Interview minimum qualifying marks: 60% (UR/EWS), 50% (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD against reserved posts). Weightage: Written Test 60%, Interview 40% (Technical & Professional 30, Personality/Communication/Competency 10). No minimum qualifying marks required in aggregate.
Appointment of selected candidates will be subject to medical fitness as per RITES rules/standards.

Candidates must give two preferences for Written Test center while applying online. RITES may allot a center not indicated as preference. All centers except Delhi/Gurgaon are tentative and depend on number of candidates and discretion of RITES.

Fee is payable during online application only through the specified mode; other modes are not accepted and such applications are treated as without fee and rejected. Posts not reserved for SC/ST/PwD: candidates from such categories will also pay full fee at application stage. SC/ST/PwD fee will be refunded after participation in written exam/interview (as applicable), credited back to source account/card after deduction of GST/bank charges, subject to submission and scrutiny of category certificate. Candidates should ensure invoice generation after successful payment; if invoice cannot be downloaded, email rectt@rites.com with registration details.
How to Apply (Online)
- Apply online in the registration format available in Career section of RITES website: http://www.rites.com.
- System generates a Registration No. on top of the online form. Note it for future login/communication.
- Fill details carefully and upload all required documents in “Upload Document” section.
- Make online payment under “Make Payment” section and download final application form after successful fee payment.
- Keep a copy of submitted application form and carry it during selection/document verification if called.
Applications without successful fee payment are treated as incomplete and summarily rejected. Hard copies are not to be sent through post/courier.
