Eligibility Criteria

Senior Solution Architect

Minimum Qualification Master’s in Computer Science / Information Technology / MCA / Engineering Degree in Computer Science / IT / Electronics & Telecom
Minimum Experience 20+ years of relevant experience with a strong portfolio of Data Centre, IT, and handling Government/PSU Data Centre with at least 5 years in a Solution Architect role
Contract Duration Three years, with renewal on a yearly basis subject to work requirements and satisfactory performance

Responsibilities of Senior Solution Architect

  1. Engaging with NIC for e-Office resiliency and modernization.
  2. Assessment and tracking of compliances as per industry standards and guidelines for enforcement by Operations and SOC teams following the Maker Checker perspective.
  3. Making, testing, and rolling out multi-cloud strategy.
  4. Presales support to the marketing team for designing and vetting solutions, customization, and risk mitigation.
  5. Attend customer meetings with RailTel marketing officials for SLA issues and understanding new solutions for proposal.
  6. Assessment of architecture, compliances, and risk mitigation of Data Centre customers built or managed by RailTel.
  7. Assessment and testing of new technologies and solutions like Cyber Security and new Cloud environments and bringing out use cases for RailTel.
  8. Assessment and planning of PoC of any solution and drafting the solution best fitted for RailTel’s requirement and use cases.
  9. Developing a framework for the IT division to streamline IT implementation, operation, and maintenance across RailTel offices and planning awareness campaigns in line with organizational IT Policy.
  10. Planning and governing cloud infrastructure at partner-hosted data centre and integrating with existing Centre of Excellence while complying with CSP guidelines of MeitY.
  11. Assessment of existing cloud posture management of RailTel and preparation of Standard Cyber Security Framework incorporating vulnerability management, application security, and Data Privacy as per DPDP Act.
  12. Any other work assigned by the Reporting or Controlling Authority.

Solution Architect

Responsibilities of Solution Architect

  1. Architecting CSP level, scalable and future-ready Data Centre.
  2. Presales support to the marketing team for designing and vetting solution, customization, and risk mitigation.
  3. Attend customer meetings with RailTel marketing officials for SLA issues and understanding new solutions for proposal.
  4. Assessment and testing of emerging technologies and solutions including AI, ML, cybersecurity, modern cloud environments, and Kubernetes platforms to identify practical use cases and enable strategic implementation for RailTel.
  5. Planning and governing the cloud infrastructure at partner-hosted data centre and integrating with existing Centre of Excellence while complying with CSP guidelines of MeitY.
  6. Responsible for Bharat DB Project engagement with IIT-Parvartak to make a roadmap of monetization and testing e-Office and other applications for migration from the existing database deployed.
  7. Assessment of existing cloud posture management of RailTel and preparation of Standard Cyber Security Framework incorporating vulnerability management, application security, and Data Privacy as per DPDP Act.
  8. Lead consulting engagements with government and enterprise clients.
  9. Supervise technical teams across multiple locations and ensure delivery timelines.
  10. Develop detailed technical documentation, strategy plans, and migration blueprints.
  11. Manage the technical execution of projects in coordination with client stakeholders.
  12. Guide teams through infrastructure upgrades, analytics system rollouts, and secure data centre operations.
  13. Expertise in architecting and managing centralized logging platforms, handling large-scale log data, and centralized authentication of users.
  14. Any other work assigned by the Reporting or Controlling Authority.
All mandatory educational and professional qualifications must be from recognized universities, autonomous institutes, or government-approved institutions in India. Only experience gained after obtaining the minimum required qualification will be considered for eligibility.

Selection Process

  • The selection process will consist of a walk-in interview followed by a medical examination.

  11. In case of failure to complete the said period, the candidate shall be liable to pay an amount equivalent to three months’ gross salary in addition to serving the applicable notice period or paying salary in lieu thereof.
