Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Group C (Level-2): Intermediate (10+2) with 50% marks OR Graduation/Post Graduation. For technical posts: Matriculation + ITI/Apprenticeship.
• Group D (Level-1): 10th pass OR ITI OR NAC from NCVT.

Scouts & Guides Qualification

• President’s Scout/Guide/Ranger/Rover OR Himalayan Wood Badge Holder
• Active member of a Scouts organization for at least 5 years (Certificate of Activeness required)
• Attended two National/All India Railways level events AND two State level events

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2026)

Age Relaxations

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years (for suitable posts)
• Ex-Servicemen: Service rendered + 3 years
• Serving Railway Staff: Up to 40 years (UR), 43 years (OBC), 45 years (SC/ST)
• Widows/Divorced women: Up to 35 years (UR), 38 years (OBC), 40 years (SC/ST)
• J&K Domicile (1980-1989): +5 years

Application Fees

• General / OBC: ₹500 (Refund of ₹400 on appearing in exam)
• SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwBD/Women/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward: ₹250 (Refundable on appearing in exam)

Selection Process

1. Written Test (60 Marks): 40 Objective Questions + 1 Essay (20 marks). Duration: 60 minutes. Negative marking of 1/3rd for each wrong answer.
2. Certificate Marks (40 Marks): Based on participation in National/State/All India events, specialized courses, and rallies.

Application Process

Candidates must apply online through the official website. Upload scanned photograph in Scout & Guide uniform, signature, and certificates. Pay application fee online using Net Banking, Debit, or Credit Cards. No physical applications are required.

Other Important Information

• Medical fitness examination is mandatory before appointment.
• Clerk-cum-Typist posts require typing proficiency within 2 years of appointment (30 wpm English / 25 wpm Hindi on typewriter OR 40 wpm English / 35 wpm Hindi on PC).
• Free Second Class Railway Pass will be issued to SC/ST candidates for appearing in exams.
• No reservation in posts, but relaxation benefits for SC/ST/OBC/EWS as per rules.
