Project Details

Project Title: Study of Ground Water and Surface Water Interaction of microwatershed in Phek district, Nagaland.

The selected candidate will be engaged in research activities related to the study of groundwater and surface water interaction in selected experimental sites across microwatersheds located in the Phek District of Nagaland.

Salary / Emoluments

Base Salary Rs. 20,000 per month
Additional Allowance House Rent Allowance (HRA) as applicable

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science
  • OR 3 years Diploma in Engineering and Technology
Preference will be given to candidates having higher or additional qualifications, relevant research experience, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and experience in the relevant field.

Nature of Work

The selected Project Assistant will be responsible for field and laboratory investigation activities at selected experimental sites across microwatersheds in the Phek District of Nagaland. The work includes collecting field data, assisting research investigations, and supporting laboratory-based scientific studies related to groundwater and surface water interaction.

Age Limit

Maximum Age 50 Years (as on the date of interview)
Age Relaxation Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC, ST, OBC, Women and Physically Handicapped candidates as per Government of India rules.

Reservation Details

Reservation benefits and age relaxation are applicable as per Government of India norms for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Women, and Physically Handicapped categories.

  1. Candidates must directly attend the Walk-in Interview or Virtual Mode Interview on the prescribed date and time.
  2. Candidates should bring a complete bio-data along with passport-size photograph.
  3. Original certificates and documents related to qualifications and experience must be presented during the interview.
  4. Candidates must also carry self-attested copies of all certificates and documents.
  5. Candidates should report at NIH at least one hour before the interview time.
  6. After the start of the interview, admission will not be allowed.

No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for attending the interview or for joining the appointment on a contractual basis.
Selected candidates may be allowed TA/DA for travel inside the country in connection with official work.

  • The appointment is purely temporary and on a co-terminus basis with the project.
  • The appointment does not entitle the candidate to any claim for a permanent position at NIH.
  • The appointment can be terminated at any time by the Institute without assigning any reason.
  • Selected candidates will work on a full-time basis and will not be permitted to take up any other assignment during the consultancy period.
  • The initial term of appointment and any subsequent extension will depend on the specific job and project requirements.
  • Selected candidates will not be entitled to allowances such as Dearness Allowance, residential telephone, transport facility, or personal staff.
  • Residential accommodation may be provided if available under the prevailing rules of the institute. The applicable license fee will be charged.
  • Candidates must ensure that they are eligible for the position before appearing for the interview.
  • Outstation candidates must arrange their own boarding and lodging at Roorkee.
  • The number of posts may increase or decrease depending on project requirements.
