Base Salary

The remuneration will be regulated as per prevailing Government of India norms. A consolidated consultancy fee will be fixed, which shall remain unchanged during the engagement. No HRA, Provident Fund, pension, gratuity, medical facilities, seniority, or promotion benefits will be provided.

Employment Type

Full-time contractual consultancy. The engagement will initially be for one year and may be extended based on performance, mutual willingness, and requirement. The contract may be terminated with one month’s notice or payment in lieu by either side.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be an Indian National.
  • Must have completed Graduation from a recognized university in India or abroad.
  • Minimum two years’ work experience required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with strong written and communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Should be from the pool of retired Government employees equivalent to Section Officer/Under Secretary.
  • Applicant must be in excellent health.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Two years of work experience in a related field.
  • Specialized domain knowledge will be given extra credit.

Age Limit

Applicants should not be more than 63 years of age as on the last date of submission of application.

Other Important Information

The Consultant will assist in making logistical arrangements for ASEAN-India, East Asia Summit (EAS), Indo-Pacific Ocean’s Initiative (IPOI), Indian Ocean Commission (IOC), and Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) related activities organized by the IP Division. Duties also include monitoring projects under ASEAN-India Cooperation Fund, ASEAN-India Science & Technology Development Fund, ASEAN-India Green Fund, coordination with the Indian Mission to ASEAN in Jakarta, implementation of projects under Mekong Ganga Cooperation (MGC), IPOI, and follow-up work including settlement of bills. The consultant is also expected to train regular staff and undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Head of Division.

Working Hours: 09:00 – 17:30 hrs, Monday to Friday. Weekends (Saturday & Sunday) are closed. In exigencies, the consultant may be required to work beyond office hours or on holidays without additional pay.

Leave Policy: 1.5 days paid leave per month of service. Maximum of 10 days leave at a time. No carry forward beyond a calendar year and no leave encashment. Any absence beyond entitled leave will lead to proportionate deduction from consultancy fee.

Travel Entitlements: If required to travel for official duties, the Ministry will cover travel, accommodation, and per-diem expenses as per MEA guidelines.

The engagement is strictly contractual and will not confer any rights or claims for regular appointment in the Ministry.
