Indian Navy Agniveer (SSR) Recruitment 2027 – Complete Notification Details

The Indian Navy has invited online applications from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates for recruitment to the post of Agniveer (SSR) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. The recruitment will be conducted through the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET) 2026 followed by Stage-II selection processes including Physical Fitness Test, Written Examination, and Recruitment Medical Examination.

The recruitment process is conducted by the Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment, Naval Headquarters, New Delhi. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Government of India can apply through the official Indian Navy recruitment portal.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics from a Board of School Education recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Candidates who have completed a three-year Diploma in Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobiles, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, or Information Technology from a recognized Central/State/UT Polytechnic Institute with at least 50% aggregate marks are also eligible.
  • Candidates who have completed a two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics as non-vocational subjects from recognized boards with at least 50% aggregate marks are also eligible.
  • Candidates appearing in the Class 12 Board Examination for the academic year 2025–26 are also eligible to apply. However, they must produce the original marksheet during later stages of recruitment and must meet the required minimum marks criteria.

Candidates born between 01 December 2004 and 31 October 2009 are eligible to apply for the INET 2026 examination.

Marital Status

  • Only unmarried male and unmarried female candidates are eligible for enrolment.
  • Candidates must provide a certificate confirming unmarried status during enrolment.
  • Agniveers are not permitted to marry during the four-year service period.
  • Candidates who marry during the service period or who are found to be already married will be dismissed from service.

Application Fees

  • Examination Fee: ₹550
  • Additional Charges: 18% GST

  • Admit cards will be issued only to candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee.
  • The fee once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances.
  • Candidates registering multiple times will be rejected and debarred from the examination.

Selection Process

Stage I – Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET)

  • Computer-based examination consisting of 100 questions.
  • Each question carries one mark.
  • The exam will be bilingual (Hindi and English).
  • Subjects include English, Science, Mathematics, and General Awareness.
  • Duration of examination: 1 hour.
  • Candidates must qualify in each section and overall aggregate.
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Medical Standards

  • Minimum height requirement: 157 cm for both male and female candidates.
  • Uncorrected vision: 6/12, 6/12.
  • Corrected vision: 6/6, 6/6.
  • Colour perception: CP Pass.
  • Permanent tattoos are permitted only on the inner face of the forearm and back side of the palm.
  • Candidates must be in good physical and mental health.
  • Female candidates found pregnant will be disqualified.

  • Disability Compensation: ₹44 lakh / ₹25 lakh / ₹15 lakh depending on disability percentage.
  • Leave entitlement: 30 days per year.
  • Medical facilities at service hospitals and access to CSD facilities during service.

Training and Permanent Enrollment

  • Training for Agniveer 01/2027 batch will begin in December 2026.
  • Training for Agniveer 02/2027 batch will begin in May 2027.
  • Training will be conducted at INS Chilka, Odisha.
  • Up to 25% of Agniveers may be selected for permanent enrolment as sailors in the Indian Navy based on performance and service requirements.
  • Selection for permanent enrolment is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of the Indian Navy.
