SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Examination 2026

The Staff Selection Commission has released the official notification for the Stenographer Grade C and D Examination 2026. The recruitment will be conducted for direct appointment to the posts of Stenographer Grade C and Stenographer Grade D in various Ministries, Departments, Organizations, Attached Offices, Subordinate Offices and Statutory Bodies of the Government of India located across different States and Union Territories.

Only candidates having stenography skills are eligible to apply for this recruitment.

  • Candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University on or before 01 August 2026.
  • Candidates must have stenography skills.
  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen, subject of Nepal, subject of Bhutan, or eligible person of Indian origin as mentioned in the notification.

  2. Complete One-Time Registration on the new SSC website if not already registered.
  3. Fill the online application form for Stenographer Grade C and D Examination 2026.
  4. Capture live photograph through the application module.
  5. Upload scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format, size 10 KB to 20 KB.
  6. Pay the application fee, if applicable.
  7. Submit the application before 15 May 2026, 23:00 hrs.

  • Reservation will be provided for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen and PwBD candidates as per Government rules.
  • ESM vacancies are reserved only for Group ‘C’ post, Stenographer Grade ‘D’.
  • Posts have been identified suitable for specified benchmark disabilities as mentioned in the official notification.
  • Only male candidates are eligible for Stenographer Grade ‘D’ vacancies in Border Roads Organization, if reported.
