Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent degree from a recognized University.
  • Proficiency in operation of Computers (Word Processing and Spread Sheets).
  • Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on 10/03/2026.
Merely satisfying eligibility criteria does not entitle a candidate to be called for the Test. The High Court reserves the right to adopt any criterion to shortlist candidates.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years
  • Maximum Age: 30 Years (as on 10/03/2026)

Age Relaxation

  • Persons with Lower Limb Disability (≥40%): 10 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen: Defence service period plus 3 years
  • Government/Semi-Government Departments/Corporations/Boards Employees: 10 Years
  • Contract/Ad-hoc employees are not eligible for age relaxation.

Reservation & Fee Details

Reservation and fee relaxation for SC/ST/BC categories are applicable only to candidates domiciled/permanent residents of Punjab, Haryana, or U.T. Chandigarh with valid certificates issued by competent authorities.

Selection Process

1. Word Processing / Transcription Test

  • English Shorthand Dictation Speed: 100 words per minute
  • Dictation Duration: 5 minutes
  • Transcription Speed: 20 words per minute
  • Maximum mistakes allowed: 3%

2. Spread Sheets Test

  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Marks: 10 (Qualifying only)
  • Minimum qualifying marks: 40% (4 marks)
Final merit list will be prepared category-wise based on merit in the Word Processing/Transcription Test.
After the Test, candidates will be called through SMS or Email for checking of original testimonials. Calling for testimonials checking does not imply qualification or selection.

Admit Card & Examination Instructions

  • E-Admit Cards will be available on the official website only.
  • Admit cards will not be sent by post.
  • Photograph pasted on admit card must match the uploaded photograph.
  • Mobile phones, electronic devices, watches, jewellery, and baggage material are strictly prohibited in the examination centre.
  • No TA/DA shall be paid for appearing in the test or testimonials checking.
