Salary and Remuneration

  • Base Salary: ₹1,00,000 per month (Fixed)
  • Car/Conveyance: ₹20,000 per month
  • Telephone/Mobile Expenses: Reimbursed up to ₹5,000 per month
  • Leased Accommodation: Up to ₹25,000 per month or Bank’s quarter
  • Other Allowances: No other allowances/facilities

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized institute
  • Experience Required:
    • Retired or serving officer, equivalent to General Manager of another bank or financial regulatory body
    • Should not have served in Bank of Maharashtra
    • Minimum 7 years experience in:
      • Banking
      • Non-banking finance
      • Regulation or supervision
      • Payment and settlement systems
      • Credit information
      • Consumer protection

Terms and Conditions of Engagement

Reporting Authority

  • The Internal Ombudsman will directly report to the Managing Director / Executive Director responsible for customer grievances.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Will not handle complaints directly from complainants or the public.
  2. Will deal with complaints already examined by the Bank’s internal grievance redressal mechanism and partly/wholly rejected.
  3. Excluded from handling: corporate frauds, administrative and HR issues, legal cases, CIC disputes, and complaints already pending in courts/other fora.
  4. Must analyse complaint patterns and suggest policy-level corrective actions.
  5. May seek additional documents and information from complainants and concerned Bank departments.
  6. Shall record reasoned decisions in each case and report quarterly trends to the Bank’s senior management.
  7. Shall not represent the Bank in legal proceedings.
  8. In conciliation cases, must retain signed statements of agreement from complainants.

Termination Clause

  • The Bank may terminate the contract with one month's notice or payment in lieu.
  • The appointee may resign with one month’s notice or compensation equivalent to one month’s fixed remuneration.
  • Performance will be reviewed annually by the Managing Director & CEO / Executive Director.
