उत्तराखण्ड में मत्स्य पालन के क्षेत्र में किए गए अभिनव प्रयोगों के लिए राष्ट्रीय मत्स्य विकास बोर्ड हैदराबाद की ओर से उत्तराखण्ड को हिमायली और उत्तर पूर्व के राज्यों की श्रेणी में सर्वश्रेष्ठ राज्य का पुरस्कार प्रदान किया गया है। उत्तराखण्ड के सचिव पशुपालन, मत्स्य विभाग डॉ बीवीआरसी पुरुषोत्तम को यह पुरस्कार सौंपा गया।

Uttarakhand has been awarded the Best State Award in the category of Himalayan and North-Eastern States by the National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad for the innovative experiments done in the field of fisheries in Uttarakhand. This award was given to Uttarakhand's Secretary Animal Husbandry, Dr BVRC Purushottam.
