मंगलवार को अल्मोड़ा-पिथौरागढ़ हाईवे पर दर्दनाक हादसा हो गया। अल्मोड़ा के फलसीमा के पास एक कार अनियंत्रित होकर करीब 300 मीटर गहरी खाई में जा गिरी। इस हादसे में चालक की दर्दनाक मौत हो गई। इस दुर्घटना में कार के परखच्चे उड़ गए। मौके पर पहुंची पुलिस ने दुर्घटना में घायल को रेस्क्यू कर अस्पताल पहुंचाया जहां डॉक्टरों ने उसे मृत घोषित कर दिया।
