आज 26 जुलाई को देशभर में कारगिल विजय दिवस की 26वीं वर्षगांठ मनाई जा रही है। कारगिल वॉर मेमोरियल में आयोजित रीथ लेइंग सेरेमनी में आर्मी चीफ जनरल उपेंद्र द्विवेदी ने शहीदों को श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की। 1999 में ऑपरेशन विजय के तहत भारतीय सेना ने टाइगर हिल और तोलिंग जैसी ऊंची चोटियों से पाकिस्तानी घुसपैठियों को खदेड़कर विजय प्राप्त की थी।

On 26th July, the nation is observing the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi paid tribute to martyrs at the Kargil War Memorial.
In 1999, under Operation Vijay, the Indian Army reclaimed victory by driving out Pakistani intruders from strategic peaks like Tiger Hill and Tololing.
