मामला बागेश्वर के गरूड़ क्षेत्र के एक गांव का है, जहां एक मां ने पहले खुद जहर खाया और फिर अपनी 11 माह की बच्ची को जहर खिलाया। कुछ ही देर में दोनों की हालत बिगड़ने लगी तो आसपास के लोग उन्हें बैजनाथ चिकित्सालय लेकर पहुुंचे, डाॅक्टरों ने बच्ची को मृत घोषित कर दिया, महिला की हालत में कुछ सुधार है। महिला ने ऐसा कदम क्यों उठाया, पुलिस इसकी जांच कर रही है।
