19 सितंबर की सुबह, ग्राम श्रीकोट पट्टी नांदलस्यूं पौड़ी गढ़वाल निवासी, अंकिता भंडारी रिसार्ट के अपने कमरे में नहीं मिली। जिसके बाद रिसार्ट के संचालक पुलकित कुमार ने राजस्व पुलिस को तहरीर दी। मंगलवार को अंकिता के पिता वीरेंद्र सिंह भंडारी व अन्य स्वजन गंगा भोगपुर पहुंचे थे। उन्होंने रिसार्ट के कर्मचारियों से पूछताछ की तो सभी के बयानों में विरोधाभाष मिला। जिस पर अंकिता के पिता ने रिसार्ट संचालकए मैनेजर तथा एक अन्य कर्मचारी पर संदेह जताते हुए राजस्व उप निरीक्षक को शिकायत दी थी।
