Protests in France against budget cuts, Eiffel Tower temporarily closed
In France, lakhs of people have taken to the streets against the government’s plan to cut spending on public services. Due to the protests, the Eiffel Tower in Paris had to be temporarily closed, while demonstrators demanded higher taxes on the rich and the reversal of the decision to raise the retirement age.
