खेल मंत्री रेखा आर्या ने प्रदेश के खेल विश्वविद्यालय को देश का सर्वश्रेष्ठ मॉडल बनाने के निर्देश दिए हैं। इसके लिए अन्य राज्यों के खेल विश्वविद्यालयों के मॉडल का अध्ययन कर बेस्ट मॉडल तैयार किया जाएगा। खेल विश्वविद्यालय का शिलान्यास आगामी 29 अगस्त, राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस पर करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।
