Chess player from Uttarakhand achieved the title of female candidate master
14-year-old Sherali Patnaik, a resident of Kishanpur Canal Road, Dehradun, created history by representing Uttarakhand in the 34th National Under-17 Open Girls Chess Championship held in Chandigarh. She became eligible for this honour by crossing the mandatory requirement of a published FIDE rating of over 2000 in the standard format of the game.
