Major progress in Rabies control, India targets zero deaths by 2030

The central government is making serious efforts to eliminate rabies-related deaths in India by 2030. According to an ICMR report, over 9 lakh animal bite cases are reported annually in the country, with more than 5,000 resulting in deaths due to rabies. A positive sign is that rabies-related deaths have already declined by up to 75%.
