Major cut in excise duty on petrol and diesel

According to reports, the govt has made a significant cut in excise duty on petrol, diesel, raising expectations of a reduction in fuel prices. It is reported that the duty on petrol has been reduced from ₹13 to ₹3 per litre, while diesel duty has been cut from ₹10 to zero. This decision has been taken in view of the global energy crisis.
