इस बार चुनाव मैदान में एक पत्रकार भी उतरे हैं। पत्रकारिता करने वाले पत्रकार दीपक करगेगी भाजपा में शामिल हो गए थे। उन्होंने रानीखेत विधानसभा सीट से निर्दलीय प्रत्याशी के तौर पर नामांकन दाखिल किया है। उन्होंने भाजपा प्रत्याशी को वोट न देकर उन्हें वोट देने के लिए अपील की है।
