उत्तराखंड के जौनसार बावर क्षेत्र के कंधार और इंद्रानी गांवों की संयुक्त पंचायत ने भव्य शादियों पर रोक लगाने के लिए नया नियम लागू किया है। अब महिलाएं विवाह समारोहों में केवल तीन सोने के आभूषण ही पहन सकेंगी। पंचायत का कहना है कि यह कदम गरीब परिवारों पर आर्थिक बोझ कम करने और दिखावे की परंपरा पर लगाम लगाने के लिए उठाया गया है।

Women will now be allowed to wear only three gold ornaments during marriage ceremonies. According to the panchayat, this decision aims to reduce the financial burden on poor families.
