हर साल 29 जुलाई को मनाया जाने वाला अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाघ दिवस आज मनाया जा रहा है। भारत में 1973 में शुरू किए गए ‘प्रोजेक्ट टाइगर’ की पहल ने बाघों की घटती संख्या को थामने में अहम भूमिका निभाई है। इस प्रयास के परिणामस्वरूप आज देश में बाघों की संख्या 3,600 से अधिक पहुंच गई है और 58 टाइगर रिजर्व सक्रिय हैं।
