हार के बाद हरीश रावत ने बयान देते हुए कहा कि मैं लालकुंआ क्षेत्र के लोगों से जिनमें बिंदुखत्ता, बरेली रोड़ के सभी क्षेत्र सम्मिलित हैं, क्षमा चाहता हूं कि मैं उनका विश्वास अर्जित नहीं कर पाया। उन्होंने कहा कि बहुत अल्प समय में आपने मेरी तरफ स्नेह का हाथ बढ़ाने का प्रयास किया। कांग्रेसजनों ने अथक प्रयास कर जनता के विश्वास को मेरे साथ जोड़ने का प्रयास किया उसके लिए मैं सभी कार्यकर्ताओं को बहुत-बहुत धन्यवाद देता हूं।

Harish Rawat gave a statement after the defeat and said that I apologize to the people of Lalkuan area, which includes all the areas of Bindukhatta, Bareilly Road, that I could not earn their trust. He said that in a very short time you tried to extend a hand of affection towards me. I thank all the workers for the tireless efforts made by the Congressmen and tried to connect the trust of the people with me.
