GST rate cut, big relief for middle class ahead of festivals

Ahead of Diwali, the government has given relief to the middle class by reducing GST rates in the 56th GST Council meeting. Now, essentials like ghee, butter, shampoo, and toothpaste will attract only 5% GST, while the tax on small cars and motorcycles has been reduced from 28% to 18%. These changes will come into effect from Sept 22.
