Green Cess to be imposed on out-of-state vehicles in Uttarakhand

From December, Uttarakhand will begin charging a green cess on vehicles entering the state from outside and the fee will be deducted automatically through FASTag using cameras installed at the Haridwar border. The Transport Department estimates that the green cess could generate revenue from nearly one lakh vehicles each day.
