बीते दिन ज्योतिर्मठ नृसिंह मंदिर में गरुड़ छाड़ मेला आयोजित किया गया, जिसके साथ ही बदरीनाथ धाम के कपाट खुलने की प्रक्रिया शुरू हो गई। इस दौरान भगवान विष्णु की प्रतिमा को रस्सी के सहारे नृसिंह मंदिर तक छोड़ा गया। मान्यता है कि बदरीनाथ यात्रा से पहले भगवान विष्णु गरुड़ पर बैठकर धाम पहुंचते हैं।

The Garud Chhaad Mela was held at the Jyotirmath Narsingh Temple. During the event, an idol of Lord Vishnu was lowered to the Narsingh Temple with the help of a rope. It is believed that before the Badrinath yatra begins, Lord Vishnu arrives at the temple riding on Garud.
