चमोली जनपद के वाण गांव निवासी गढ़वाल स्काउट के लांसनायक सुरेंद्र सिंह का आज सैन्य सम्मान के साथ अंतिम संस्कार किया गया। ड्यूटी के दौरान उनकी अचानक तबीयत बिगड़ गई थी, जिसके बाद अस्पताल में इलाज के दौरान उनका निधन हो गया। अंतिम यात्रा में सैकड़ों ग्रामीण नम आंखों से शामिल हुए और वीर जवान को भावभीनी विदाई दी।

Lance Naik Surendra Singh, a resident of Wan village in Chamoli district and a soldier of the Garhwal Scouts, was laid to rest today with full military honours. He had suddenly fallen ill during duty and later passed away while undergoing treatment in the hospital. Hundreds of villagers attended the funeral and bid an emotional farewell.
