नैनीताल जिले में फर्जी स्थायी निवास प्रमाणपत्रों का बड़ा मामला सामने आने के बाद प्रशासन ने सख्ती दिखाते हुए जांच तेज कर दी है। हल्द्वानी तहसील में पिछले पांच साल में जारी 150-200 प्रमाणपत्रों की जांच में 48 ऐसे प्रमाणपत्र मिले, जिनके साथ लगे दस्तावेज संदिग्ध या अधूरे पाए गए, जिन्हें तुरंत निरस्त कर दिया गया।

After a major fake permanent residence certificate racket surfaced in Nainital, the administration has tightened scrutiny and sped up investigations. In Haldwani tehsil, an audit of 150–200 certificates issued over the past five years found 48 cases where attached documents were suspicious, leading to their immediate cancellation.
