Dehradun hands over garbage fee collection to 'Women Self-Help Groups'

According to reports, the Dehradun Municipal Corporation has assigned the responsibility of collecting garbage user charges in 57 wards to women self-help groups. It was stated that the women are collecting the charges on a quarterly basis by visiting households and are receiving 25 percent of the collected amount.
