मुख्य सचिव डॉ. एस.एस. संधु ने बीते दिन सचिवालय में ईको टूरिज्म और जड़ी-बूटी को बढ़ावा दिए जाने के सम्बन्ध में वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से जिलाधिकारियों के साथ बैठक करते हुए कहा कि 70 प्रतिशत से अधिक वन क्षेत्र होने के कारण वन प्रदेश की आर्थिकी का महत्त्वपूर्ण संसाधन बन सकते हैं। उन्होंने निर्देश दिए कि सभी जनपदों में वन क्षेत्रों में जड़ी-बूटियों की सम्भावनाओं को तलाशते हुए प्रस्ताव तैयार किए जाएं व हितधारकों से संवाद स्थापित कर इस कार्य में आ रही समस्याओं और उनके निराकरण पर कार्य किया जाए।

Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu, while holding a meeting with the DMs through video conferencing regarding the promotion of eco-tourism and herbs, said that due to the presence of more than 70 percent forest area, forests can become an important resource for the state's economy. He instructed that proposals should be prepared exploring the possibilities of herbs in forest areas in all the districts and work should be done on the problems faced in this work.
