मेडागास्कर में पानी और बिजली की कमी को लेकर शुरू हुआ विरोध प्रदर्शन अब उग्र रूप ले चुका है। सेना की कैपसेट यूनिट ने राष्ट्रपति एंड्री राजोइलिना के खिलाफ बगावत कर दी है और हालात बिगड़ने पर राष्ट्रपति देश छोड़कर चले गए हैं। बताया जा रहा है कि प्रदर्शन में अब तक 22 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है और कई घायल हुए हैं।
