Contract workers stage protest in Garud area of Bageshwar district, Uttarakhand

According to reports, contract workers in the electricity department in Garud area of Bageshwar district have begun an indefinite protest, demanding a pay hike and the release of pending payments for the last five months, along with other issues. The workers say they are not being paid as per prescribed standards.
