आनंद, गुजरात से अपनी पत्नी और अन्य साथियों के साथ चारधाम यात्रा पर आये बुजुर्ग श्रद्धालु (76 वर्ष) गंगोत्री धाम यात्रा के दौरान फिसलकर घायल हो गये थे, उपचार के दौरान चिकित्सक द्वारा उनको मृत घोषित कर दिया गया। मृतक की पत्नी व साथी शव को वापस गुजरात ले जाने में असमर्थ थे। इस पर उत्तरकाशी पुलिस द्वारा मानवता धर्म निभाते हुये हिन्दु रीति रिवाज के साथ मृतक का अन्तिम/दाह संस्कार किया गया।

An elderly devotee (76 years) who had come from Anand, Gujarat on Chardham Yatra with his wife and other companions, was injured by slipping during Gangotri Dham Yatra, he was declared brought dead by the doctor during treatment. The wife and companions of the deceased were unable to take the body back to Gujarat. On this, the Uttarkashi Police performed the last rites of the deceased following the Hindu customs while following the religion of humanity.

By cremating the deceased pilgrim, the police personnel fulfilled the duty of the son
