हाल ही में दिवंगत सीडीएस बिपिन रावत के भाई रिटायर कर्नल विजय रावत भाजपा में शामिल हुए थे। भाजपा उन्हें चुनाव मैदान में उतारने की तैयारी कर रही थी। कोटद्वार या डोईवाला सीट से लगभग-लगभग उनके चुनाव लड़ने पर सहमति बन गई थी।  लेकिन उन्होंने चुनाव लड़ने से इन्कार कर दिया है।

Recently, retired Colonel Vijay Rawat, brother of late CDS Bipin Rawat, had joined the BJP. The BJP was preparing to field him in the election fray. It was almost agreed to contest his election from Kotdwar or Doiwala seat. But he has refused to contest the election.
