जानकारी के अनुसार, जनपद चमोली में शनिवार सुबह स्कूल जा रहे जूनियर हाईस्कूल हरिशंकर के कक्षा 7 के छात्र पर झाड़ियों से निकले भालू के बच्चे ने हमला कर दिया, लेकिन इसी बीच उसके साथी छात्र ने पत्थर मारकर और शोर मचाकर भालू को भगा दिया, जिससे उसकी जान बच गई। इस घटना के बाद वन विभाग ने क्षेत्र में गश्त बढ़ा दी है, लेकिन क्षेत्र में भय बना है।
