जनपद चमोली के नारायणबगड़ ब्लॉक का बारकोट गांव आज भी सड़क सुविधा से वंचित है। सड़क न होने की वजह से ग्रामीणों को 4-5 किमी की खड़ी चढ़ाई पैदल तय करनी पड़ती है, जिसके कारण युवाओं के विवाह में भी रुकावट आ रही है। फिलहाल बारकोट सड़क प्रस्ताव को स्वीकृति मिली है, जिससे निर्माण कार्य शुरू होने की उम्मीद है।

Barakot village in Narayanbagad block of Chamoli district still lacks road connectivity, forcing villagers to walk 4–5 km of steep uphill terrain, which has even become an obstacle in the marriage prospects of local youth. The Barakot road proposal has now been approved, raising hopes that construction work will begin soon.
