बांग्लादेश की अंतरिम सरकार ने शेख मुजीबुर रहमान से ‘राष्ट्रपिता’ का दर्जा हटाते हुए उन्हें केवल ‘स्वतंत्रता सेनानी’ के रूप में मान्यता दी है। इसके साथ ही उनकी तस्वीरें बांग्लादेशी करेंसी से हटा दी गई हैं और उनकी जगह धार्मिक व ऐतिहासिक स्थलों की छवियां जारी की गई हैं।
